Massey Ferguson T41E1 – Transmission Controller (TCU) / EXT Lite: Transmission Internal Software Issue DYNA VT (TRANS)
Issue description
Faulty programming. The software within the transmission controller has become corrupted, is missing, or has encountered an internal logic failure that prevents it from operating the transmission correctly.

Check the cause
Check for voltage drops by testing the tractor's batteries and alternator output, as severe voltage drops can cause software corruption.
Inspect the X598 (58-pin) and X174 (96-pin) harness connections on the EXT Lite transmission controller for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.
Connect a compatible diagnostic tool (such as AGCO EDT, Wintest, or Jaltest) to the diagnostic connector (X183/X888) to read ECU memory.
Check for accompanying CAN network interruption or calibration codes (such as T41EC for Drive Pedal Not Calibrated or T41ED for Clutch Pedal Not Calibrated).
Verify the software version by reading the current software and serial data to confirm if the module is communicating on the CAN bus.
Repair steps
Stabilize Voltage
Connect the tractor to a stable battery maintainer to ensure voltage does not drop during the programming sequence.
Reflash the Controller
Using the AGCO EDT software, attempt to reflash/update the EXT Lite transmission controller with the latest OEM software payload.
Perform Calibrations
If the software flash is successful, the transmission will likely have lost its calibration data. You must perform a full Dyna-VT transmission calibration, including the clutch pedal and drive pedal calibrations.
Replace Module (If Necessary)
If the transmission controller is 'bricked' (will not accept the software flash or fails to communicate entirely on the CAN bus), the physical controller must be replaced.
Program New Module
Install the new EXT Lite controller, reconnect the X598 and X174 harnesses, and use the EDT to push the tractor's specific software package to the blank module, followed by a full calibration.
Parts you might need
(1)EXT Lite Transmission Controller (Dyna-VT) / SRC14-34 Main Controller
Specific 10-digit AGCO part numbers vary strictly by the tractor's chassis serial number and cab configuration. A used or new replacement controller is not plug-and-play and must be programmed with the correct software version matching the tractor's hardware.
