Check the cause
Check for Voltage/CAN Issues: Verify battery voltage is not low (<11V) or spiking (>16V), and ensure the CAN network is not interrupted.
Inspect Connectors: Check the X174 (96-pin) and X598 (58-pin) connectors on the EXT Lite controller for moisture, corrosion, or backed-out pins.
Diagnostic Tool Verification: Connect a diagnostic tool (AGCO EDT or Jaltest) to the diagnostic connector (X183/X184) to read the ECU failure memory and check the current software version.
Repair steps
Attempt Software Flash
Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to re-flash or update the software on the EXT Lite transmission controller.
Calibrate
If the software update is successful, perform a full Dyna-VT transmission calibration.
Replace Controller (If Flash Fails)
If the controller is 'bricked' (will not accept the software flash) or the internal memory is physically damaged, the module must be replaced.
Physical Replacement
Disconnect the tractor's battery. Locate the EXT Lite transmission controller. Disconnect the 96-pin (X174) and 58-pin (X598) Bosch connectors. Unbolt the faulty controller and install the replacement.
Program New Module
Use the AGCO EDT to program the new controller with the tractor's specific parameters and perform a complete transmission calibration.
Parts you might need
(1)EXT Lite Transmission Controller / SRC 14/34 Main Controller
ACV0270280This part number is for the SRC 14/34 controller, which is the official AGCO replacement/upgrade for the older EXT Lite controller. It becomes the main controller of the machine and stores all tractor parameters. It utilizes Bosch Matrix 1.2 (96-pin) and Matrix 1.2/BDK 2.8 (58-pin) connections. Dealer programming is strictly required after installation.
