T41EE

Massey Ferguson T41EE – EXT Lite transmission controller: Transmission Calibration Issue DYNA VT (TRANS) / Faulty programming

Issue description

The curve of transmission parameters in the program mode is missing, corrupted, or out of calibration. When this code is triggered, the transmission loses its reference parameters, and the tractor will typically default to a protective "limp home" (emergency) mode to prevent mechanical damage.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the transmission oil level is correct and ensure the oil temperature is within the normal calibration operating range (35°C to 45°C).

  2. Check the wiring harness, grounds, and power supply to the EXT Lite controller (X174/X598) to ensure the module is not losing power, which can cause it to drop its programming.

  3. Connect the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to check software versions. Ensure the tractor and diagnostic tool are running the latest updates to rule out known bugs that cause erroneous T41EE displays.

Repair steps

  1. Position the tractor

Position the tractor on flat ground, place the transmission in neutral, and release the park brake.

  2. Warm up transmission oil

Warm up the transmission oil to between 35°C and 45°C (can be monitored via the Dash Control Center diagnostic screen).

  3. Connect diagnostic tool

Connect the AGCO EDT diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port (X183/X888).

  4. Re-flash controller

If the controller programming is corrupted (Faulty Programming), use the EDT to re-flash the EXT Lite controller with the correct software package for your specific VIN.

  5. Initiate transmission calibration

Initiate the transmission calibration. (On some MF models, calibration can be manually triggered by raising engine speed to ~1500 RPM, holding the PowerShuttle arm in the raised position, and simultaneously pressing the differential lock switch for about 10 seconds until "Ct" displays on the dash. Once "Ct" appears, move the shuttle forward to begin).

  6. Allow calibration to run

Allow the calibration to run its course (you will hear the transmission shifting; this takes approximately 10 minutes).

  7. Save settings

Once complete, save the settings by placing the PowerShuttle into neutral, disengaging the differential lock, idling the tractor down, and switching the engine off.

  8. Test drive

Restart the tractor and test drive using various forward/reverse maneuvers to validate that the shifting is smooth and the T41EE code does not return.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • EXT Lite Transmission Controller (SRC 14-34 Main Controller)

    X174

96-pin version. Specific AGCO part numbers vary heavily based on the exact tractor chassis and serial number; hardware and software versions must match the rest of the tractor's modules.

  • EXT Lite Transmission Controller (SRC 14-34 Main Controller)

    X598

58-pin version. Specific AGCO part numbers vary heavily based on the exact tractor chassis and serial number; hardware and software versions must match the rest of the tractor's modules.
