   Verify battery voltage and alternator output, as voltage spikes or severe drops can cause temporary RAM/EEPROM errors in the controller.

   Check the power and ground circuits leading to the X174 Autotronic 4 controller for corrosion, loose pins, or damage.

   Connect a compatible diagnostic tool (e.g., Massey Ferguson EDT or Jaltest) to read the ECU failure memory and confirm if T41FF is active or stored.

   Attempt to clear the code to see if it returns immediately, which indicates the module requires reprogramming or replacement.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery before performing any electrical work to prevent further module damage.

   Inspect Connections

   Locate the X174 Autotronic 4 transmission controller. Unplug the harness connectors and inspect for moisture or pin damage. Clean with contact cleaner and reconnect securely.

   Attempt Reprogramming

   Reconnect the battery. Using the dealer diagnostic tool, attempt to re-flash or update the software on the Autotronic 4 controller. Contact your dealer for this step due to the proprietary software required.

   Replace the Controller

   If the controller will not accept programming or the RAM/EEPROM error persists after a re-flash, the internal memory is permanently damaged. The Autotronic 4 controller must be replaced.
