Massey Ferguson T5154 – Transmission Controller: Issue With Signal Voltage From Left Brake Pedal Sensor
Issue description
The control module detects that the electrical signal coming from the left brake pedal sensor is out of its expected operating range, interrupted, or short-circuited.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the left brake pedal sensor (X66) for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
Verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage and has a solid ground connection using a multimeter.
Check the continuity of the signal wire between the sensor and the transmission controller to ensure there are no breaks or shorts to ground.
Perform a signal sweep test by monitoring the sensor's signal voltage while slowly depressing and releasing the left brake pedal, looking for erratic voltage jumps or dead spots.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Locate the Sensor
Locate the left brake pedal sensor (X66) mounted on the brake pedal linkage assembly inside the cab.
Removal
Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the sensor. Remove the retaining screws/bolts and slide the faulty sensor off its mounting bracket.
Installation
Mount the new brake pedal sensor in the exact orientation as the old one and secure the retaining hardware. Reconnect the electrical harness.
Reconnection
Reconnect the tractor's battery.
Calibration
Perform a brake pedal sensor calibration using the tractor's onboard dashboard diagnostic menu or a dealer diagnostic tool, so the transmission controller learns the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage values.
Clear Codes
Clear the T5154 fault code from the transmission controller and test drive the tractor to ensure proper braking and transmission disengagement.
