T5155

Massey Ferguson T5155 – Transmission Controller: Issue With Signal Voltage From Right Brake Pedal Sensor

Issue description

The controller detects that the signal voltage from the right-hand brake pedal sensor (X67) is outside of its normal operating range, short-circuited, or experiencing interrupted data transfer.

Applies to these machines

  • 7622
  • Interim Tier 4 (2012-2015)

  • 8690
  • 6600 Series
  • 5600 Series
  • 6400 Series
  • 7400 Series

Check the cause

  1. Locate the right-hand brake pedal sensor (X67) on the brake pedal linkage assembly inside the cab

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to the sensor for chafed wires, corrosion inside the pins, or loose connections

  3. Use a multimeter to verify the reference voltage reaching the sensor and check the signal wire for a short circuit to ground or an open circuit

  4. Ensure there are no broader CAN network interruptions (such as code T41A2) since this sensor communicates with the transmission module

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

  2. Access the Sensor

Access the brake pedal assembly in the footwell of the cab. Locate the right brake pedal sensor (X67).

  3. Disconnect

Carefully unplug the electrical harness connector from the sensor.

  4. Remove

Unbolt or unclip the faulty sensor from its mounting bracket on the pedal assembly.

  5. Install

Mount the new OEM brake pedal sensor into the bracket. Ensure it is properly aligned with the pedal's travel path so it can accurately read the pedal position.

  6. Reconnect

Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

  7. Test

Reconnect the battery. Turn on the ignition and use a diagnostic tool to clear the T5155 fault code. Depress the right brake pedal several times to ensure the transmission responds correctly and the code does not return.
