T6115

Massey Ferguson T6115 – Transmission Controller (TRANS1): Issue With Signal From PTO Neutral Button Dyna VT

Issue description

The electronic control system is receiving an invalid, missing, or out-of-range electrical signal from the PTO (Power Take-Off) neutral switch located on the PTO/linkage console (circuit/connector X145).

Check the cause

  1. Locate the Switch: Find the PTO neutral switch on the PTO/linkage console (X145) inside the cab. (Note: Depending on the exact model, secondary external PTO switches on the mudguard/fender can also cause signal interruptions in the circuit).

  2. Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Check the wiring harness leading to the switch for chafing, rodent damage, or pinched wires. Inspect the connector for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

  3. Test Switch Continuity: Disconnect the switch and use a digital multimeter to test for continuity. The switch should show a clear open/closed state when toggled. If the resistance is out of specification or the switch is stuck, it has failed internally.

  4. Bypass Test (Optional/Diagnostic Only): You can temporarily use a jumper wire with alligator clips to bypass the switch terminals to see if the TRANS1 module recognizes the signal change (do not operate the PTO or drive the tractor in this state).

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Console

Carefully remove the trim or paneling around the PTO/linkage console to access the underside of the switch assembly.

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical wiring harness connector from the faulty PTO neutral switch.

  4. Remove the Switch

Depress the retaining clips or remove the mounting screws holding the switch in the console bezel, and push the switch out.

  5. Install the New Part

Snap or screw the new OEM PTO switch into the console housing.

  6. Reconnect

Plug the electrical harness back into the new switch, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

  7. Reassemble and Test

Reinstall the console trim, reconnect the battery, and start the tractor. Cycle the PTO switch to ensure the PTO engages/disengages properly and verify that the T6115 fault code has cleared from the dash/display.
