Massey Ferguson T6150 – Transmission Control Module (TRANS1): Issue With Values Received From Rear PTO Speed Sensors Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
Triggers when the PTO output shaft speed sensor (X16) reads a speed that is lower than the actual PTO output shaft speed. Causes include an X16 sensor supply voltage error, a signal error indicating the PTO shaft speed is higher than 1300 rpm, or the PTO speed solenoid valves (X4 and X3) being mechanically or electrically locked in the deactivated position.

Check the cause
Test the supply voltage to the X16 PTO output shaft speed sensor to rule out a voltage error
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the X16 sensor and the TRANS1 module for damage, corrosion, or loose pins
Inspect the PTO speed solenoid valves (X4 and X3) electrically and mechanically to ensure they are not stuck in the deactivated position
Verify if the PTO shaft speed is actually exceeding 1300 rpm during operation, which can trigger a signal error for sensors X16 or X15
Repair steps
Safely park the tractor, turn off the engine, and engage the parking brake.
Locate the rear PTO output shaft speed sensor (X16) on the rear PTO/transmission housing.
Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector and use a multimeter to test the circuit for proper voltage and continuity back to the Transmission Control Module (X18).
If the wiring is intact but the sensor fails testing (or if it is physically damaged/seized), unthread and remove the faulty X16 sensor.
Install the new PTO speed sensor.
Note: Pay attention to the thread length of the replacement part, as 40mm and 50mm variants exist depending on the exact model.
Reconnect the electrical harness.
If the sensor and wiring are completely functional, locate the X4 and X3 speed solenoid valves. Replace them if they are found to be locked in the deactivated position.
Clear the T6150 fault code from the TRANS1 module and test-run the PTO to verify the repair.
