   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion or damage (electrical cause).

   Verify the spool position sensor value using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface.

   Perform a Spool Leakage Check (mechanical cause): Position the hydraulic control handle in 'Neutral', connect a hydraulic hand pump (e.g., test kit N-1100) to the control valve port, and attempt to pressurize to 2500 psi. Inability to pressurize indicates internal leakage around the spool.

   Relieve hydraulic pressure

   Shut off the engine, engage the brakes, and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system.

   Remove valve assembly

   Remove the External Hydraulic Valve 2 assembly from the tractor.

   Disassemble control valve

   Disassemble the control valve. Remove the plug, washer, centering spring, and the main spool.

   Clean internal components

   Clean all internal components thoroughly to ensure no foreign contamination is causing the spool to stick.

   Inspect spool and bore

   Inspect the spool and the spool bore for scoring, wear, or damage.

   Reassemble valve

   Reassemble the valve using new O-rings and seals. Lubricate the new seal rings before placing them in the upper cover.

   Repeat leakage check

   Repeat the hydraulic hand-pump leakage check (pressurize to 2500 psi). If no pressure can be obtained after cleaning and resealing, the entire valve assembly must be replaced.

   Reinstall and test

   Reinstall the valve, clear the DTCs from the system, and test the hydraulic remote operation.
