Yale 1239-7 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / Controller: Fuel Run-Out Longer Than Expected

This fault indicates a problem with the electric LPG shut-off solenoid (also known as the lock-off solenoid). The system is detecting that fuel is continuing to flow or taking longer than expected to purge after the command to shut off has been sent.

   Perform a standard On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system check to verify the active code.

   Disconnect the LPG shut-off solenoid connector (C003 or C004) and use a DVOM to check for power across terminals A and B while cranking the engine, then turn the ignition key OFF.

   Verify if the voltage immediately turns OFF with the key cycle to rule out a short in the wiring or a faulty ECM.

   Measure the resistance between the terminals on the solenoid itself to determine if it is within the manufacturer's specified Ohms.

   Check for continuity between the ECM pin (e.g., pin 12 or 75) and engine ground to check for a short to ground, and inspect the ECM wire harness and connectors for damage, corrosion, or contamination.

   Secure the Machine

   Turn off the manual LPG valve at the fuel tank to prevent any gas leaks during repair.

   Address Wiring Issues

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to ground, poor connection, or damaged pins at the ECM or solenoid connector, repair the wire harness or connector as needed.

   Replace the Solenoid

   If the wiring and ECM output are functioning correctly but the solenoid failed the resistance test or is mechanically sticking open, replace the LPG shut-off solenoid.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the solenoid harness.

   Final Testing

   Turn the manual LPG valve back on, cycle the key, and run the engine to ensure the replacement is complete, there are no leaks, and the fault code clears.
