Yale 520260-3 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / Engine ECU: Electronic Pressure Regulator (EPR) OORH (Out of Range High)
Issue description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) is detecting a voltage or pressure signal from the Electronic Pressure Regulator (also known as the DEPR or MegaJector) that exceeds the allowable threshold.
Applies to these machines
7 machines- Yale and Hyster Forklifts
- 2005 and newer Yale (and Hyster) forklifts
- Yale Veracitor VX Series (GLC030-070VX, GLP050-070VX, GP050VX)
- PSI 2.0L/2.4L/4.3L engines
- Mazda 2.0L/2.2L engines
- Kubota WG2503 engines
- GM 4.3L LPG engines
Check the cause
Inspect the EPR/MegaJector electrical connector pins for damage, corrosion, or contamination, and ensure the connector is fully seated.
Inspect the wiring harness between the EPR and the ECM for open circuits, shorts to power/ground, or physical damage.
Check that the ECM grounds, battery cables, and ground straps are clean, tight, and secure to rule out erratic voltage.
Check for intake manifold vacuum leaks, which can cause higher-than-normal idle and skew pressure commands.
Perform an EPR pressure test by connecting a calibrated 0-10” water column (WC) vacuum gauge or manometer to the secondary pressure test port and comparing readings to OEM specs.
Repair steps
Depressurize and Disconnect
Turn the manual LPG shut-off valve to the OFF position. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shock or system damage.
Remove Connections
Disconnect the multi-pin electrical connector from the EPR.
Disconnect Fuel Lines
Remove the fuel inlet line from the regulator.
Dismount the EPR
Remove the nuts/bolts securing the EPR assembly to the upper and lower mounting brackets. Remove the old EPR.
Install the New EPR
Mount the new EPR to the upper mounting bracket and secure it with bolts. Torque the bolts to 15 N·m (11 ft. lbs.).
Secure Lower Bracket
Install the EPR assembly to the lower bracket and retain it with the nuts.
Reconnect Lines and Wiring
Reconnect the fuel inlet line and torque to 27 N·m (20 ft. lbs.). Reconnect the EPR electrical connector.
Finalize
Open the manual LPG valve and check for leaks. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Use a diagnostic scan tool or the dash display to clear the fault codes.
