Yale 522710-3 – Engine ECU / Controller: Throttle A Position Sensor OORH

The voltage signal from the primary throttle position sensor (Sensor A) is exceeding the expected maximum operating range. This is typically caused by an open circuit on the sensor ground wire, the sensor signal wire being shorted to the sensor supply voltage or directly to the battery source, an internal failure within the throttle position sensor itself, or a functional failure or input malfunction at the controller.

   Inspect the throttle position sensor wiring harness for physical damage, specifically looking for an open ground wire or a short to the supply voltage or battery.

   Measure the voltage output from Throttle Sensor A and compare it against the manufacturer's specifications to confirm if the sensor is outputting incorrect voltage levels.

   Check the controller's sensor input voltages to rule out a malfunction on the ECU side.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a short to the battery or a broken ground connection, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor fails the voltage output test (internal failure), remove and replace the Throttle A Position Sensor.

   Calibrate

   After installing a new sensor, perform the sensor calibration procedures per the manufacturer's instructions to ensure correct sensor tracking.

   Replace Controller

   If the wiring and sensor are both functioning correctly but the fault persists, test the controller input pins. If the controller is failing to read the signal properly, replace the controller module.
