522713-3

Yale 522713-3 – Vehicle System Controller (VSC) or Engine Control Unit (ECU): Accelerator B Position Sensor OORH (Out of Range High)

Issue description

This fault code indicates that the signal voltage from the secondary accelerator pedal position sensor (Sensor B) is higher than the acceptable operating range.

Applies to these machines

  • Yale and Hyster Forklifts
  • Yale VX Series
  • GC135VX
  • GLC050VX
  • Hyster FT Series
  • H1.6-1.8FT
  • H2.0FTS
  • H3.0FT

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the accelerator pedal for damage, corrosion, or loose pins

  2. Check for an open circuit in the sensor power supply wiring

  3. Use a multimeter to verify that the sensor signal wire is not shorted to the battery source or the 5V sensor supply

  4. Use diagnostic tools or a multimeter to monitor the output signals of Sensor B while sweeping the pedal through its full range of motion

  5. Check the sensor input voltages directly at the controller pins to rule out a wiring break between the pedal and the ECU

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks reveal an open circuit or a short to the battery/sensor supply, repair or replace the affected section of the wiring harness.

  2. Replace the Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor output is out of range or dead, replace the accelerator position sensor (or the entire electronic pedal assembly, depending on the specific truck's parts breakdown).

  3. Replace the Controller

If the sensor wiring is perfectly intact, the sensor tests good, but the fault persists and the controller is not reading the input, the controller itself has suffered a functional failure and must be replaced.

  4. Clear Codes

After repairs, clear the fault codes from the system and test drive the forklift to ensure the code does not return.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor / Electronic Throttle Pedal Assembly

Fitment varies heavily by exact mast and chassis serial number. Always verify the specific pedal assembly part number in the Yale parts catalog using the truck's serial number, as some models require replacing the entire pedal rather than just the sensor.
