Yale 523767-2 – DSC: Arrow Down Button Stuck

This fault indicates a button failure where the system detects that the Arrow Down key on the dashboard interface is continuously depressed or shorted. The Display Switch Cluster (DSC) communicates this fault to the Vehicle System Manager (VSM).

   Inspect the Arrow Down button on the display panel to see if it is physically jammed, sticky from debris, or visibly damaged.

   Disconnect the battery positive connection, wait a few moments, and reconnect it to see if the code clears or if it was a temporary glitch.

   Check for a corrupt CDF file, which can sometimes cause erratic button faults on the display.

   Disconnect power

   Disconnect the battery ground/positive cable to ensure the machine is powered down safely.

   Lower the steering column

   Lift up on the steering wheel slightly, pull up on the tilt lever, and push the steering column all the way down to its lowest position.

   Remove the steering column cover

   Locate the latches on both sides of the upper steering column cover. Press both latches in simultaneously and pull the cover away from the steering column.

   Remove the DSC

   Remove the mounting screws (often T-15 Torx) holding the display/key switch assembly in place.

   Disconnect wiring

   Carefully unplug the wiring harness connected to the back of the DSC.

   Install the new DSC

   Connect the wiring harness to the new Display Switch Cluster and mount it back into the steering column. Reattach the covers.

   Program the new DSC

   A new (blank) Display Switch Cluster must be programmed. Use the Yale PC Service Tool software to transfer data or load the correct CDF file for your specific forklift, as the DSC stores truck-specific information like hour meters and component serial numbers.
