Yale 523769-2 – DSC (Display Switch Cluster): DSC Fault - Arrow Up Button Stuck

Issue description

Button Failure. The system detects that the 'Arrow Up' navigation button on the display panel is continuously engaged, either because it is physically jammed by debris/damage or because the internal membrane switch has failed in the closed (shorted) position.

Applies to these machines

  • Yale and Hyster Forklifts
  • Yale GLC050LX
  • Fortis series
  • Fortens series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the physical 'Arrow Up' button on the display panel for sticky residue, dirt, or physical damage that might be holding the button down.

  2. Attempt to gently clean around the button to see if it frees up.

  3. Verify the code is active by turning the truck power ON and checking the display.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the forklift and disconnect the positive (+) battery connection.

  2. Remove and replace the display panel (Display Switch Cluster).

See Electrical System 2200YRM1427 or Electrical System 2200YRM1327 for the exact dash disassembly steps.

  3. Restore the positive (+) battery connection.

  4. Turn the truck power ON.

  5. Press and hold both the 'Scroll' arrow buttons simultaneously for two seconds.

  6. Check the screen to see if any fault codes (DTCs) are still displayed.

If YES: Proceed to the troubleshooting procedure indicated by the new DTC(s). If NO: The repair is complete and the system is functioning normally.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Display Switch Cluster (DSC) / Dashboard Display Panel

The DSC is a non-serviceable sealed unit; individual buttons cannot be replaced internally, which is why the official procedure dictates replacing the entire display assembly. Exact part number varies heavily depending on the specific forklift model, mast configuration, and serial number.
