Yale 524206-2 – Display Switch Cluster (DSC): DSC Fault - Rear Worklight Button Stuck
Issue description
The system has detected a continuous, uninterrupted signal from the rear worklight button, meaning the switch is either physically jammed in the depressed position or has failed internally (shorted).

Check the cause
Inspect the Display Switch Cluster to see if the rear worklight button is physically wedged down by dirt, debris, or a damaged membrane
Disconnect the positive (+) battery connection to completely power down the system and perform a reset
Reconnect the battery, turn the truck power ON, and press both Scroll arrow buttons simultaneously for two seconds to access the active DTC menu to verify if code 524206-2 is still actively displaying
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the battery positive (+) connection.
Remove DSC
Remove the mounting hardware securing the Display Switch Cluster (DSC) to the dashboard and disconnect its wiring harness.
Install replacement DSC
Install the replacement Display Switch Cluster.
Restore battery
Restore the battery connection.
Turn power ON
Turn the truck power ON.
Program new DSC
According to Yale service manuals, installing a new (blank) Display Switch Cluster may require data transferring and programming to sync with the Vehicle System Manager (VSM) using the Yale PC Service Tool Software.
Clear codes and test
Clear the codes and test the rear worklight button to ensure normal operation.
