Yale 524206-2 – Display Switch Cluster (DSC): DSC Fault - Rear Worklight Button Stuck

Issue description

The system has detected a continuous, uninterrupted signal from the rear worklight button, meaning the switch is either physically jammed in the depressed position or has failed internally (shorted).

Applies to these machines

  • Yale and Hyster Forklifts
  • Yale VX Series (GLC20-35VX, GLC050VX, GP/GLP/GDP80-120VX)
  • Hyster FT Series (H1.6-1.8FT, H30-35FT)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the Display Switch Cluster to see if the rear worklight button is physically wedged down by dirt, debris, or a damaged membrane

  2. Disconnect the positive (+) battery connection to completely power down the system and perform a reset

  3. Reconnect the battery, turn the truck power ON, and press both Scroll arrow buttons simultaneously for two seconds to access the active DTC menu to verify if code 524206-2 is still actively displaying

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery

Disconnect the battery positive (+) connection.

  2. Remove DSC

Remove the mounting hardware securing the Display Switch Cluster (DSC) to the dashboard and disconnect its wiring harness.

  3. Install replacement DSC

Install the replacement Display Switch Cluster.

  4. Restore battery

    Restore the battery connection.

  5. Turn power ON

    Turn the truck power ON.

  6. Program new DSC

According to Yale service manuals, installing a new (blank) Display Switch Cluster may require data transferring and programming to sync with the Vehicle System Manager (VSM) using the Yale PC Service Tool Software.

  7. Clear codes and test

Clear the codes and test the rear worklight button to ensure normal operation.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Display Switch Cluster (DSC) / Dash Display Unit
