524233-14

Yale 524233-14 – Display Switch Cluster (DSC): Boost Test Override

Issue description

Memory Integrity Failure indicating a DISPLAY INTERNAL FAILURE where the display unit's internal memory or processing has failed.

Applies to these machines

  • Yale and Hyster Forklifts
  • Yale S50CT
  • H50CT
  • Yale Forklifts
  • Hyster Forklifts

Check the cause

  1. Power Cycle: Turn the forklift off, disconnect the battery for a few minutes to perform a hard reset, and reconnect it. Turn the key switch back on to see if the memory integrity error was a temporary glitch or a hard fault.

  2. Inspect Connections: Check the wiring harness connector at the back of the Display Switch Cluster (DSC) for loose pins, corrosion, or moisture ingress, which can sometimes cause erratic internal processing errors.

  3. Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for CANbus communication codes (e.g., 2000-12, 522593-12). If communication codes are present, resolve the wiring issues first, as voltage drops on the CAN lines can cause the display to malfunction.

  4. Verify the Fault: If DTC 524233-14 is the only code and it remains active after a power cycle, the display unit has suffered an unrecoverable internal failure.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the forklift and disconnect the main battery connector to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Display

Remove the steering column covers or dash bezel panels required to access the mounting hardware for the Display Switch Cluster (DSC).

  3. Remove the Display

Unscrew the mounting bolts holding the display in place.

  4. Disconnect Harness

Carefully unplug the main wiring harness connector from the back of the display unit.

  5. Install Replacement

Connect the wiring harness to the new OEM display unit and secure it to the dash using the mounting hardware.

  6. Reassemble

Reinstall all dash panels and covers.

  7. Test and Clear

Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the onboard diagnostic menu (or a Yale service tool) to clear the stored fault codes. Verify that DTC 524233-14 does not return and that the display functions normally.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Display Switch Cluster (DSC)

Must be ordered specific to the Yale S50CT/H50CT (or exact model) chassis serial number, as displays are often pre-programmed with specific firmware for the machine's configuration.
