The Castolin XHD 2230 is a high-performance austenitic-ferritic welding electrode designed for robust joining and surfacing of challenging steel types, including tool steels, spring steels, manganese steels, high carbon steels, and armour plates. It provides excellent mechanical properties with a tensile strength of 800 MPa and a yield strength of 550 MPa. The weld deposit offers an as-welded hardness of approximately 220 HV, which work hardens to around 400 HV. Suitable for AC/DC+ current and all welding positions except vertical down. This 3.2mm diameter electrode (part number 651897) ensures strong, durable welds in demanding applications, typically supplied in a 5kg pack.
