It carries radial and axial loads between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing, maintaining correct alignment of the clutch pack. A worn bearing produces audible rumble and shaft play, which leads to clutch slip and uneven power delivery. The bearing is sealed on both sides with rubber shields to retain grease and exclude contaminants. On installation, press the bearing squarely into the housing bore and confirm the shaft rotates freely before reassembling the clutch.
