This skid is a wear component mounted on the underside of the threshing unit. It provides a low-friction contact surface that guides the threshing assembly as it moves through the crop mat, protecting the drum housing from direct abrasion. As the skid wears, the clearance between the threshing elements and the concave increases, reducing threshing efficiency and allowing more grain to pass through unseparated. The original part is machined to match the mounting geometry and curvature of the housing, so no shimming or adjustment is needed during replacement.
