This left-side strip is the wear bar for the inclined conveyor on a combine harvester. It is mounted on the conveyor slats and contacts the underside of the crop mat as it moves up the elevator housing. The strip guides the crop flow and protects the conveyor structure from abrasion. Over time, the contact face wears thin, which reduces the conveyor’s grip on the crop and can lead to material bunching or uneven feeding into the threshing drum. As an original component, its thickness and length match the conveyor slat spacing so that the strip maintains consistent contact without interfering with the adjacent slats.
