It is mounted to the machine frame and carries radial and axial loads from the chopper drum or related driveline components. A worn bearing produces excessive vibration and noise, which can lead to misalignment of the chopper blades and reduced cutting quality. The assembly includes a flanged housing with six mounting holes for bolting directly to the machine structure. On reinstallation, ensure the mounting bolts are torqued to specification and that the shaft rotates freely before the machine is operated.
