This pawl is a mechanical latch component used in the knotter assembly of a large square baler. It engages and disengages with the knotter hook to control the timing of the twine tie cycle. A worn or incorrectly set pawl causes missed knots or broken twine, leading to bale rejection. As an original component, it is machined to the same engagement profile and spring-hole location as the original assembly, which is necessary for correct knotter timing without adjustment.
