This hydraulic filter element removes particulate contamination from the hydraulic circuit before the fluid reaches the pump and control valves. It mounts in the filter housing on the return side of the system, where it captures wear debris from actuators and motors upstream. A clogged element forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate and accelerate wear on precision components such as spool valves and piston pumps. The original manufacturer's element matches the housing's seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure, so the filter maintains its designed flow restriction and filtration rating. Replace the housing seal when installing a new element, and torque the cap to the specified value.
