This fuel filter element removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the injection system. It is installed in the primary fuel line between the tank and the lift pump, protecting the high-pressure components from abrasive contamination. A restricted element reduces flow to the injection pump, causing hard starting and power loss under load. The filter housing seals against the mounting head using the included gasket; on replacement, ensure the old seal is fully removed and the new one is seated correctly before tightening the housing to the specified torque.
