Corteco - CO12018030B - Front Axle Seal Ring

This front axle seal ring retains lubricating oil inside the axle housing and excludes external contaminants such as dirt and moisture. It is installed at the rotating shaft interface on the front drive axle, where it contacts the shaft surface to create a dynamic seal. A worn or hardened seal allows oil leakage past the shaft, which reduces lubricant level in the axle and can lead to bearing or gear damage. Corteco manufactures this seal to match the original housing bore geometry and shaft contact surface, so the interference fit and lip pressure remain within the design range for the axle assembly. On installation, inspect the shaft surface for scoring or corrosion; a damaged shaft will shorten seal life. Lubricate the seal lip before fitting, and seat the seal squarely in the housing bore.
