This toothed V-belt transmits rotational force from the engine crankshaft to the cooling fan and alternator pulleys within the drive system of the host tractor. The teeth on the inner face allow the belt to wrap around smaller pulley diameters without slipping, maintaining consistent tension across the accessory drive loop. A worn or glazed belt produces a high-pitched squeal at startup and reduces alternator output, which can lead to undercharged batteries. Gates manufactures this belt to match the original profile and tooth pitch, so the belt seats correctly in the pulley grooves without requiring tensioner adjustment beyond the standard range. When replacing, inspect the tensioner pulley bearing for wear and torque the tensioner bolt to the service manual specification.
