This V-belt transmits power from the engine pulley to the driven pulley in the combine's drive system. It sits in a single-groove pulley arrangement and relies on the wedge action of its sidewalls against the pulley flanges to transfer torque without slipping. A worn or glazed belt causes speed loss at the driven component, leading to reduced throughput or plugging in the header or feeder house. The belt's cross-section matches the original pulley groove profile, so the correct contact angle is maintained for full load capacity. On installation, ensure the belt is not twisted and adjust tension to the manufacturer's specification.
