This 3-way pressure compensator, integrated into an intermediate plate, maintains a stable pressure difference across the flow control valve, making the volume flow independent of consumer load changes and pump pressure fluctuations. The piston position is regulated by the pressure difference measured before and after the valve. The pressure difference is determined by the spring pressure on the piston face and stabilized by diverting excess pressure fluid back to the tank. In its basic position, the pressure compensator is closed. The volume flow and consumer speed can be continuously adjusted by changing the diameter range of the flow control valve or by altering the pressure difference on the pressure compensator via an adjustment screw. It is connected in parallel to the flow control valve, where it maintains a constant pressure difference by distributing the volume flow from the pump. If the consumer stops, the pressure compensator opens, allowing pressure fluid to flow from the pump to the tank with low pressure losses, thus acting as a relief valve and protecting the system from overheating. These compensators are also used in control systems with pressure and volume flow adaptation (Load Sensing).
