This bolt secures the plow point (nose) to the plow leg, holding the wear part in position during soil engagement. It passes through the point and threads into the leg, with the nut providing clamping force to prevent loosening under vibration and impact loads. A loose or missing bolt allows the point to shift or detach, which can damage the leg and disrupt furrow depth consistency. The bolt is manufactured to the same hardness class as the original, so the clamping load matches the assembly's design specification. On reinstallation, clean the threaded hole and torque the nut to the value specified for the plow assembly.
