The loading condition and the pitching movements of the vehicle change the headlight range. Other road users may be dazzled by this. This is why headlamp leveling systems (LWR) are required by law. The headlamp levelling system has the task of adapting the height of the cut-off line to the load condition of the vehicle. This is to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic when the vehicle is loaded. In current vehicle models, manual and automatic systems for headlamp levelling are installed. With the manual system, the driver must adjust the headlight inclination himself using a switch. There are pneumatic as well as electrically operated systems.
