This needle roller bearing is a one-way, or overrunning, clutch bearing. It transmits torque in one rotational direction and freewheels in the opposite direction. The bearing sits between a shaft and its housing, allowing the shaft to drive a load in one direction without back-driving the input source. A worn bearing will slip under load in the drive direction, causing intermittent power transmission or complete loss of drive. This component is manufactured by INA/FAG to match the original assembly's internal clearance and roller geometry, ensuring the correct engagement and disengagement timing for the clutch function.
