JAG - 3616741M1.01 - Friction Disc Massey Ferguson

This friction disc is the driven element inside the clutch pack. It transmits torque from the engine flywheel to the gearbox input shaft through friction contact with the pressure plate and intermediate plates. The disc is located between the flywheel and the pressure plate assembly; its lining material provides the coefficient of friction needed for smooth engagement and disengagement. A worn disc reduces clamping force, leading to clutch slip under load and difficulty engaging gears. The manufacturer machines this disc to the same thickness and diameter as the original assembly, so no shimming or adjustment is required during replacement. On reinstall, ensure the disc is centered in the splined hub and that the pressure plate bolts are torqued to specification.
