This bearing-with-housing assembly supports the arm drive shaft in the threshing section of a combine harvester. It carries radial and axial loads from the oscillating arm mechanism that moves the straw walkers or returns pan. The housing locates the bearing at the correct height and orientation relative to the pivot points on either side of the machine. A worn bearing produces play in the arm drive, causing misalignment and accelerated wear on the pivot bushings and connecting rods. The manufacturer machines the housing bore to match the original assembly's fit, so no shimming is required during replacement.
