This bearing shell sits in the straw-walker assembly of a grain harvester. It acts as a replaceable wear surface between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing, reducing friction and maintaining alignment of the walker cranks. As the shell wears, clearance increases, leading to knocking and accelerated wear on the shaft journal. The manufacturer machines this shell to the same thickness and hole geometry as the original, so it seats fully in the housing without shimming. On installation, ensure the shell is fully seated and the retaining hardware is torqued to specification.
