A worn bushing introduces play in the pivot, causing the knife to hang at an incorrect angle and reducing chopping uniformity. The bushing is machined to the original inner and outer diameters so it seats without modification in the existing bore. On installation, ensure the pivot pin is clean and lubricated before pressing the bushing into place.
