The self-sufficient marten repellent device M9900 from K&K distinguishes itself through the integrated sleep mode of the activation sensors, which only draws on the AA-batteries upon contact and "slumbers" the rest of the time. If the marten brushes past the multi-contact high-voltage brush, the high voltage is triggered in a fraction of a second. This enables extremely efficient, yet also extremely low energy consumption. The battery life and the repellent function are thus virtually unlimited*. A low-battery indicator with LED also provides early warning of a “natural” age-related end to battery life. High-voltage deterrence is indispensable, especially for particularly aggressive animals in territorial fights and “veterans” with altered hearing thresholds. The fur-penetrating K&K +/- high-voltage brushes have proven particularly effective, which is why they are also used in a 4-fold version in the M9900. In contrast to conventional contact plates, the stainless steel brushes comb through the fur, thus offering not only the paw and snout an attack surface, but also the entire body of the intruder. Due to the waterproof encapsulated electronics, the device can be installed particularly deep in the engine compartment and thus acts as a “bouncer” for the marten's particularly vulnerable entry area. The flexibly movable and extendable stainless steel brushes also allow for optimal adaptation to the respective engine compartment. If the hood is opened, the safety hood switch leads to an immediate reduction of the high voltage at the contact plates, thus enabling safe working. Naturally, this innovation also meets the strict OEM requirements.
