This left-side plow share is the ground-engaging component that cuts and turns the furrow slice. It mounts to the plow body and works in conjunction with the right-side share to create the complete furrow profile. The chisel point integrated into the share tip penetrates hard soil first, reducing the draft force required from the tractor and protecting the share's main cutting edge from impact wear. A worn share produces an irregular furrow bottom and increases fuel consumption because the tractor must pull a blunter edge through the soil. The share is secured to the plow body with four bolts; when replacing, clean the mounting face and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
