This folding cotter pin secures the drawbar connection on tractors and vehicles. It locks the hitch pin in place to prevent unintended disengagement during operation. A worn or deformed cotter pin can allow the drawbar pin to work loose, leading to coupling failure. The pin is installed by inserting it through the cross-hole in the hitch pin and folding the legs back against the shank.
