This thrust bearing sits between the clutch release mechanism and the pressure-plate fingers. It converts the rotational motion of the release fork into axial force, disengaging the clutch disc from the flywheel. When the bearing wears, the release action becomes rough or noisy, and full clutch disengagement may become difficult. The bearing is designed to match the original assembly's stack height and inner-race geometry, so the release travel and pedal feel remain within specification. On installation, ensure the bearing slides freely on the guide sleeve and that the release fork is correctly seated.
