This rubber shock absorber dampens vibration and impact loads transmitted through the linkage of a disc harrow. It is installed between the frame and the gang or section arm, compressing and rebounding to reduce shock transfer to the tractor drawbar and the harrow frame. A worn or collapsed absorber allows excessive frame movement, which can lead to cracked welds or uneven disc penetration. The rubber element is bonded to the central metal sleeve and outer shell; replacement requires pressing the old unit out and the new one into the mounting bracket.
