This water pump circulates coolant through the engine block and radiator to maintain operating temperature under continuous heavy load. It mounts to the front of the engine and is driven by the accessory belt; the impeller inside the housing moves coolant from the lower radiator hose into the water jacket. A failing pump typically shows as a coolant leak from the weep hole, bearing noise, or gradual engine overheating. The manufacturer produces this replacement to match the original housing geometry and impeller clearance, so no shimming or adapter is required during installation. On reinstall, use a new gasket and torque the mounting bolts to the specification for the host engine.
