This starter motor delivers 12 volts and 3.2 kilowatts to crank the host tractor's engine. It mounts to the engine block and engages the flywheel ring gear through a solenoid-actuated pinion. When the ignition circuit energizes the solenoid, the pinion extends and the motor rotates, turning the engine until combustion begins. A worn starter may produce a slow crank, a grinding noise from partial pinion engagement, or a no-crank condition if the solenoid contacts fail. This component is manufactured to the original catalog specification, which preserves the correct pinion-to-ring-gear engagement depth and the solenoid pull-in winding resistance. On reinstallation, ensure the mounting bolts are torqued to spec and the electrical connections are clean and tight.
