It sits in the HVAC intake path, ensuring the air reaching the operator is clean. A clogged filter reduces airflow, leading to poor defogging performance and increased fan strain. The filter is constructed to match the original housing dimensions, so it seats correctly in the filter frame without gaps that would allow unfiltered air to bypass the media. On replacement, ensure the sealing foam around the filter edges is fully compressed against the housing flange.
