This hydraulic filter element removes particulate contamination from the hydraulic oil before it circulates through the pump and downstream actuators. It mounts inside the filter housing on the return side of the hydraulic loop, where it captures wear debris generated by the pump and cylinders. A clogged element forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered oil to pass through and accelerate wear on the control valves and piston seals. Mann-Filter manufactures this element to match the original housing's seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure, so the filter maintains the designed flow restriction and filtration efficiency. On reinstall, ensure the housing seal is replaced and the cap is torqued to specification.
