This hydraulic oil filter removes particulate contamination from the hydraulic circuit before the fluid reaches the pump and control valves. It is installed in the filter housing on the return side of the loop, where it protects downstream components such as the gearbox and steering actuators from abrasive wear. A clogged filter element forces the bypass valve to open, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate and accelerating internal component damage. The filter element is manufactured by Mann-Filter to match the original housing’s seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure, so the system maintains its designed flow restriction. When replacing the element, clean the housing interior and inspect the seal surface for debris.
