Mann Filter - HU9003Z - Oil Filter

This engine oil filter removes particulate and sludge from the lubricating oil before it circulates through the engine's bearing journals and cylinder walls. It mounts on the engine block and receives full-flow oil from the pump; the filter media traps wear debris and combustion byproducts that would otherwise accelerate bearing and piston-ring wear. A restricted filter opens its internal bypass valve, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate, which directly increases engine wear rates. The manufacturer machines the filter's baseplate and seal face to match the housing's sealing surface, ensuring the bypass valve seats correctly and no oil leaks past the gasket. On replacement, lubricate the new gasket with clean oil and tighten the housing to the specified torque.
