This engine oil filter removes particulate and sludge from the engine lubrication circuit before the oil reaches the main bearing journals and turbocharger feed. It mounts on the engine block or filter head and uses a full-flow design, meaning all oil passes through the media during normal operation. A clogged or restricted filter forces the integral bypass valve open, which sends unfiltered oil to the engine and accelerates wear on bearing surfaces and the turbo shaft. Mann-Filter manufactures this element to match the original housing’s bypass-valve cracking pressure and seal-groove geometry, so the filter seats correctly and the valve opens only when the media is fully loaded. On installation, lightly lubricate the gasket face with clean oil and tighten the housing to the torque specified by the engine manufacturer.
