This fuel filter removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the injection system. It is installed in the fuel line between the tank and the high-pressure pump. A clogged filter restricts fuel flow, causing the engine to lose power or stall under load. The manufacturer constructs this replacement element to the same pleat geometry and media density as the original assembly, so it maintains the correct flow rate and filtration efficiency. When replacing, drain the water separator bowl and prime the system after installation to purge air from the fuel lines.
