This left-side plowshare is the hardened cutting edge that penetrates the soil and lifts the furrow slice onto the moldboard. It mounts to the frog at the bottom of the plow body, directly ahead of the moldboard and landside. The share takes the primary wear from soil abrasion and impact; a worn share increases draft force and produces a ragged furrow wall. As an original component, its mounting-hole pattern and thickness match the frog casting so the share sits flush without shimming. When replacing, clean the frog face and use the specified bolts torqued to the implement manual.
